15+lb bass caught on a spongebob pole!

Post by jf0 » Wed Jun 24, 2009 12:19 pm

My 2yr old neice was fishing with her daddy and after catching a few little fish she had a rather large tug on her pole. After help from daddy to bring it in she cried in fear after seeing the MONSTER she caught!

where was that caught at? the washington state record is like 11.7, if that was caught in washington it shattered it. good job on the fish.

Dude trust me on this one , if a bass that size was caught in this state , the word would spread faster than butter on hot toast !!

Nice fish! Poor girl, she looks so distraught. Kind of like Dez when he hangs up his favorite crankbait.

I don't think distraught is the word, more like terrified because that thing EATS what she usually catches!

:^o Are you sure that bass is 15# ? It looks like it's more in the 7-8#. The only reason I ask is the guys hand don't look like it could fit inside the fish mouth and it dosen't have big bug eyes. My wall mount you can make a fist and the edges of the mouth just touch your hand :-s it's only 10.3#. :-k Could be the angle of the pic. Any ways thats a nice fish and she did a great job.

Might just be the angle of the pic that makes it look smaller,..great story though and nice catch!

:-" shame on me for saying so... but the pic. angle is very strange. The guy's fingers are effectively as big as the girls face. But I guess at her age, anything is a great catch.

The camera angle is very odd (it was taken by the same guy holding the fish while trying to frame a picture with the catch and his little girl) which is why it's hard to tell the size and proportions. If you want to believe it is only 7-8lb then so be it, that's still a hell of a fish to catch on a spongebob rod!
