Well my brother was talking about some Rivers that are opening...But I think I'm leaning towards Leech lake for some Flyfishing triploids and brookies....Lake should be a thawed out by now. Should be a sweet weekend for whatever fishing you want to do!

Most lakes with will be pretty wild this week-end with the great weather. Think I'll give Benson a try -- It has a no gas motor rule and holds a lot of big bass (and trout)
A nice bass is too valuable a resource to enjoy catching only once.

If I can make it out for bass this weekend I'll either take the floattube to lake twelve, or the lund to Sammamish, otherwise my brother is trying to break my freshwater rally and go after Salmon-

Quick question on Lake Twelve....it has REALLY exceptional trout fishing for quantity, not necessarily quality (size); however how is the Bass...I've told my buddies that the bass bite in this lake, I never have bass fished it but my buddies have and they were not impressed....they didn't catch much nor saw anything, but I KNOW THEY ARE IN THERE, I've seen'em just haven't fished it yet....

my experience has been the EXACT Opposite of what you just said. I have caught small bass, crappie, blue gill, sunfish, but NO TROUT and i have been to this lake probably 5 times since they stocked it in March...

supposedly, an 11lb smallie came out of Twelve last fall. i didn't see it though.

I did locate the spawning beds and that was cool, first time i've ever seen that anywhere.

REALLY? All the warm waters and not one trout? Gosh I've fished this lake, just his year two or three times, once before they stocked, then twice afterwards and have slammed the trout...fly fishing first two times, spinning rid the last time. Huh? I do know there are Bass in this lake...though i haven't heard of smallmouth, mainly largies. Actually I would be VERY suprised if any smallies are in the lake as smallies are usually in bigger lakes. 11LBs though? I don't believe that, not a 11LB smallie in lake twelve, just doesn't seem like it would be their habitat. Its a shallow lake, only reaching depth of 25'-35 MAX ft'. I want to meet the fisherman that caught that fish, then I might be a believer....

BUT I DO KNOW THE BASS IN THERE WOULD BITE HARD, I just need to fish it! maybe i'll throw out the fly rod and go get'em...that would be awesome! I look forward to reading your posts on lake Twelve if you decide to go there~!

KEEP'em TIGHT!

Dustin my man, someone is seriously yankin' your chain on that one! No way in hell an 11lb smallie is coming out of any of these lakes. If an 11lb smallie even exists I think Tag's probably keeping that secret to himself, so he can pair it up with his 11lb largie and have couple of replica bookends made!
