Anyone having any luck in the South Sound area?
I've been on the Columbia and Willamette for smallies but haven't tried for largemouth in this area yet. Anyone having any luck? Are fish starting to move into the shallows yet?

I've caught 7 bass over the past few weeks and all were in pretty close to the shoreline, no deeper than 4' at the most. I've hit them in Grant, Kitsap, and Pierce counties, so I think they're moving in tight to shoreline cover more than you might expect with all the cold fronts that keep moving in every few days. I'm marking fish in 10-12' regularly but the ones that are biting are the ones taking shallow shelter in reeds and around laydowns and under docks.Meatloaf_Rocks wrote:I've been on the Columbia and Willamette for smallies but haven't tried for largemouth in this area yet. I've been fishing the Kitsap area and doing pretty well. 24 fish since April 2. Like Aaron said...all were close to the shore. Spinnerbaits, jigs, and brush hawgs have worked. I just cast everywhere along the bank. You might be surprised.
