I use to dive that area often take your 12fter and just N of the public dock/pier you will see a private house down the beach that looks like it kinda goes out into a point .
Come off that area about 45 to 60 feet I found Flatties/big flounder right there pushing 6-8 lbs one guy thought they were smaller Butts they were not but they were the biggest Flounder I have ever seen caught or shot!:-# :chef:

Try catching them on trout gear. What a kick in the pants. We used to use pileing worms to catch them. Not sure if thats what they are actually called. Used to cast out, let it sink to the bottom and slowly reel them back in. Deep fried with some chips...delicious!

RE:Any one wanna hit kayak point?
thanks for the hint on the spot swede!
ive used the berekly alive gulp piling worms(the little fake ones) and have had great luck with them, or small walleye curly tail jigs tipped with a chunk of herring. another one of my favorite spot is to buzz up to the stilly delta and fish the small creeks and such that get 10 feet or deeper with the high tide. usaully get some good mats outta there. my favorite rod for flounder has always been my limaglass 7 foot ultra light with 15 pound briad spun on it. you catch a 12" fish and have a hay day with it! my buddy said the dog fish were in thick this last weekend so i hope to good i dont tie into any of those nasty things.

looks like it just might be a fishin trip instead of camping
