I should have been following this thread. :-"

About 25 years ago I had a great bass lake that was getting over populated with sunfish, pumpkin seeds as I recall. So I build a metal cage with chicken wire, top open, and put it on a pole that hung over a bank with a sharp drop off. I would catch the little buggers and toss them in the open cage.

After a short amount of time, the fish would rot, the maggots would fall in, the sunfish would feed on them and the bass would feed on the sunfish. I figured I was doing the lake good, feeding the stunted sunfish, feeding the bass, removing excess sunfish.

Apparently someone did not agree. #-o The took down my cage, and it took quite a bit of waking to get the cage into this area.:-({|= Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.:colors:
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

Flipinfool is right about the road kill. The old man and I would take a hog head down to the river and tie it in a tree about 4' off the water and would make for a killer fishing hole. Well until the maggets were all gone!! Dog food works also. I don't know if it's leagel maybe if my skin was red!!!!!
