Pend Oreille River

Post by Bassmaster3000 » Sat Feb 14, 2009 1:34 pm

Hey,

Does anyone know a few good techniques for bassin' the Pend Oreille River? I have never fished for bass there and I don't know anything about the fish patterns there. I have been looking at a lot of Topographic maps or the river and have been up there a few times to look at it and study the behavior. It is a really slow moving, large river! But yeah, if anyone has tips on the Pend Oreiile River, let me know!

I fished it in the fall of 07. It was great. We got smallies and largies, they were everywhere. My buddy killed them on the DS, I killed them on a T-rig Strike King 3x wormy. The big ones were on the points with the most current, but mind you that was fall.

Don't be intimidated that it is a river. Fish it much the same as you would fish a still body of water. The current here is not enough to change tactics from a lake, unless fishing at the bass's higher range in the system.
