I don't like to fish untill the water temps hit 47* thats when it seams to be a little better. But the fish will still bite its just slow very slow. If the weather dose'nt change we are going to have sunny days this can warm the water and move bass to shallow feeding. Or go to Texas they seam to be putting them in the boat down there. If Texas is out try jigs, smithwicks(dead sticking) or red rattle traps. Go slow and tight to cover.

Hey Rocky , I see your new to the site "welcome" Bro . Just a few pointers , there are alot of bass guys on here that can point you in the right direction on the water . However just keep in mine when you start a thread like this it's hard to get the detail info your wanting without asking a detail type question . When i see general questions like this on threads it usally dont end up answering the guys questions , it will just turn into "talk'n bout bass in general" ..Hope this can give you some better insight as to how to get the most you can from this great group of anglers on this site , glad to have ya around bro..

Hello ROcky23
Welcome to the site.
The kind of fishing you plan on doing will dictate the kind of advice you receive. For small Rainbows we’ve been using Power bait on a slip sinker rig through the ice and hanging the bait just a couple of inches off the bottom at several of our area lakes (Eastern WA) and doing really well. At Rufus Woods we’ve been trolling large woolly bugger style flies and rooster tail type spinners behind the boat for trout and casting them to the shore and doing very good for small mouth. I talked to a couple of local fishermen at Rufus Woods yesterday and they were trolling large bass plugs behind their boat and took home a nice limit of three pound trout. They actually started the day working the banks for small mouth. The perch bite is just now getting good at Banks Lake jigging with Swedish Pimples.
My best tip would be Just get out there and have some fun.

Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley.

Didn't know this was Jays boy. An old Florida trick is to take a hot dog cut it in half and hook one of the halfs and toss it out and let it sit there. There has been plenty of bass caught on hot dogs down south sounds nuts but it works on the tightest liped LMB. We did this on very clear Lks for fish that just wouldn't bite. I haven't tryed this in Wa too much money in bass tackle I guess. If you get one doing this keep it tight liped.:-$

Hahaha Tagwatson.Thats the best answer.I was gonna say the same.I like Trents idea also."Edible Bait".If the fish dont eat the hot dog you can for a snack.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
