BMD, I've got some extra lead. Want to barter lead ingots for dropshot sinkers? Sounds like a good deal for both of us.

My weights aren't perfect yet I still need more practice! What size are your ingots? And what is the lead percentage?

I like the way they look.I want some of the bad ones for my wrist-rocket.They would look nice in a commerants head or a nutrias head.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

My fishing partner and I went in on halves for one of those molds....slingshot ammo mold. They sure are fun to shoot, but you can go thru a bunch of lead REAL quick!

Your weights looked fine to me.

I'm not sure how much my ingots weigh. I'll throw one on the scale. Also not sure about the percentage. I've got a bucket of wheel weights + a 34lb slab from a garage sale. I know that they are not pure, which is fine by me. Alloys often have lower melting temperatures than pure lead, plus they are harder which means that they can bang rocks without getting dented. (This helps the paint stay on.)

The only down-side is that they are a tad light. My 1/8 oz jigs only weigh a little over 3 grams.

So here are mine and BMD's first 2hr expieriment with plastics.Slowly we figured it out,and more plastics later got alot fast.I like the microwave way but you could keep a better consistancy on the stove"just takes longer"I think we both enjoyed it enough where we will now have 2 hobbies to help us out on the non-fishing days"now if we could only make gamakatsu hooks"we be set:cheers: We will learn more and get more molds and different colors as this was just a starter kit for 39.99 and 1 nice mold for drop-shot i bought from www.del-mart.com.

Looks great Sparky and BMD! I am at the kit at creature kit at Delmart. Is that where you got the 39.99 starter kit?

Plastics look good guys. Another good site for plastic/lead molds is http://www.barlowstackle.com Great site also for hard to find commercial plastics, bulk generic hard baits. They used to carry 4-6" waterdogs that were killer, bought all they had about 5 years ago and my supply has slowly dwindled down to a couple dozen....#-o

Nice work boys. Hand made baits and saving money. Can't beat that. Keep playing around, you guys will find a hot bait real quick. Save some for the fishn quinea pig. I'll throw'em and catch something on them.
Great job guys.
