If it wasnt for Bad Luck I'd have no luck

Post by racfish » Mon Jan 12, 2009 10:06 am

I loaded my boat up Friday nite.Bass gear galore.Poles, reels, gassed up,batteries charged.Sat morn comes.I lightly lift the boat trailer up and I hear SNAP...My boat was ok but my lower back wasnt.I was leaning forward going into the house damn near in tears. There went my weekend fishing.I ended up in bed all day.Woke up Sunday feeling pretty good.I thought I'd try it again. No way was I going to lift it again. So I went to the river which was way too high.I set up my gear anyways.I got baited up and was feeling pretty good till I casted.SNAAAAAAAAAP.How I got home I'm not sure but I did.Im now sitting at work in serious back pain.Damn I hate getting older.

Winces as that makes my back hurt. I took my tube out for 5 hours yesterday and though a bit sore, I am no where near that. Hope you feel better quickly!

I feel your pain racfish. My last bad back experience happened last labor day while pulling a propane cylinder out from under the camper. But don't blame it on your age. To quote a movie line, "It's not the years honey, it's the mileage". Take it easy, get some rest and have a brew, hopefully you'll be ready to give it another go by the weekend!

Hey racfish, ya know that pile of logs there at the end of the park across from the golf course... got one peice in the back of the truck. knew I shouldnt try the second, did anyway. never got it, but got a mangled arm and hozed the back to show for it. did that 3 weeks ago.. happy holidays, spent 2 weeks hobling along like I ned a walker... and Im still feeling the aftermath.

Sorry to hear that, Racfish. Makes my broken ankle last spring and summer seem like a walk in the park. Hope it heals well.

Geez, back pain issues. man, when i was younger I used to just kind of wonder what was up with people when they talked about their bad backs...
Then it all caught up with me, I had a back injurey myself. Now i re-injure it every year. I will never forget last year when I woke up one morning and literally could not get out of bed or even roll to my side. Of course I had to get to a bathroom, and my snoring had caused the wife to sleep on the other side of the house that night! Well, it got pretty creative that morning. Don't be afraid to go to the Dr. and get hooked up.

Here I am a week later and still have a lil bit of pressure in the small of the back.I thought to myself that a lil spin in the boat on Sat. would be fine.I go and start up my truck and the dashboard was all lit up.Im thinking Hmmmm? Why are all the pretty lil red lights on?My alternator is bad.....Why is it when youre just broke does everything have to happen. Is it the Bad Karma Fairy following me or what?So here I am again with no fishing over the weekend.Grrrrrrrrrrrr I know there has got to be some good luck on the horizon.

Tries to find the glass half full side ... well maybe it is better to get these "bad luck" episodes out of the way before the spring and the spawning bass are laying on thier beds. Good luck racfish and I hope things start to turn around for you!

I may have a bunch of bad lil episodes in life but it never depresses me too bad.Sometimes it just is that way.Like you say better get rid of the bad karma now and by spring be as right as rain.Luck is what you make it for yourself.I may have a few negatives here and there but for the most part I stay upbeat. If my rigs get damaged or hurt its them and not me (other then back ). That comes with a 1 part age 2 parts neglect 1 part pity.Hahaha.Be well gents and ladies..
