Is there a generally better area and time of year for pike there? My son has been talking about wanting to go pike fishing and I would really like to take him. I haven't fished the PO in years.

April thru Sept. the spring is best for numbers since they are spawning and easier to find in shallow water.

Almost time. We just need the ice to melt in the sloughs and we will be good to go! I have a new trolling motor coming soon to help with the current up there. Can't wait.

I hope to give it a shot this Sunday, weather permitting. I am planning to take my nephews up there and try to find a place from shore. Shore fishing up there is very limited on the POR at least where the pike are found. We will try the old dead fish under a bobber I think since it is still pretty cold.

I am thinking about trying Calispell slough, I know you need a reservation permit. Does any one know what they charge for it and where to get one up there. I am guessing at the Usk store.

I seen some that were caught from shore in Idaho. So they are catching some. If any body has any suggestion please post. I wish I didn't have so many nephews going with me otherwise I would take a boat. 4 teenagers and 1 firend will be going with me.

Tomarrow I taking them to Little falls for Walleye and Trout.
Well its not called Catching!
