Found my house!

Post by cobrar543 » Tue Aug 26, 2008 12:52 pm

Moving on to Camano island next month..so checking out the reports on the area... What is the "bubble"? I see lots of people saying they were fishing off the "bubble"
What other areas near there are good for fishing and crabbing.
Found the lakes in the area already and have the boat planned out.
Anyone got any good map sites to check out?
Thanks all!
Doug

A really good start would be to go the the Salmon University site and select the Washington region. From there simply click on the area in which you will be fishing. For you, Puget Sound North will be a good start. Keep in mind that these are only the more popular areas and that there are many "honey holes" throughout the Sound that people keep secret. Follow the link: [url=http://www.salmonuniversity.com/puget_north.html] and click on Tulalip Bay and you'll get all the info you can handle on the "bubble".

Hey cobrar543 the silvers are in now. You can catch them off the beach at Kayak point park on the mainland side. Buzz bombs, crockodiles, herring...just remember that it is SINGLE BARBLESS for everything in the salt.

You are right smack dab in the middle of three really good river Salmon and Steelhead fisheries. The Stilliguamish is derectly due east of Camano, the Skagit system is north and my stomping grounds the Snohomish system to the south. One thing you will have to try is for humpies when they come in next year they are a hoot.

Google Earth is a good map site with satillite images.

Yea it is a pier that they fish off of. LANDING a salmon is a chore, you either have to walk to fish all the way to the shore along the pier or drop a crab ring (that is just a circular net on a ring that you drop vertically to catch crab) and slide the fish into it. If you go south on the beach there is alot of shore that is great fishing. Watch for jumping fish.

You living on the west side or east side of the island? There is a very small public access off of High RD at Madrona beach (West side of the Island) near the Yacht Club. Again watch for the jumpers.

The bubble is a waist of time. a bunch of lock jawed kings that tease ya. Hot right now on the island is driftwood shores around to the mouth of the Stilly. Last weekend they were jumping all over by the hundreds. Wilson darts, try a bunch of different colors, pink was the hot color. incomming tide. Go get 'em!!!! Good sturgeon fishng out there too in the spring. Crabs too.
