Rivers near North Seattle

Post by Elisant » Tue Sep 23, 2008 2:27 pm

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the North Seattle area and am looking for a nice river for some fly fishing.

Any suggestions and/or directions?

Thanks!

What species are you looking to catch? It would be easier to let you know what river would be best suited for you. The closest rivers to you are the Green, Cedar, Snohomish, Skykomish, Snoqualmie, Sultan, and Wallace.

Hey, I'm near Carkeek Park.

Looking for somewhere within half an hour or an hour to drive or hike into. Don't have a boat or float tube on me though, so would need a bit of shore to cast out my line.

Thanks!

Cool. I'm most interested in Trout, Cutthroat, and Salmon.

For trout, the upper Snoqualmie River has good action as does the Cedar River and the Skykomish River. For Salmon the best bets are the Snohomish, Skykomish and Green Rivers.

Here with the next couple days of rain we should start to see more Silvers in the rivers. I will be out on Saturday and possibly Sunday too on the Snoho and the Sky, should be good.

Oh yeah I almost forgot one good trout stream, the Beckler River.
