What really happened to the Merwin signs ...

Post by Don Wittenberger » Thu Sep 11, 2008 8:28 pm

My friends Mike and Penny at Merwin Lake e-mailed the following information to me:

"Thought you would like to know that the 50” muskie sign was not torn down but actually blown down. It was secured with staples only which could not withstand the wind velocity. Our friends who work for Thousand Trails (Larry and Denise) told us last night the sign was stored at Cresap Bay. When asked if we wanted it back up, we told him yes, please. Larry told us he would reinstall it with bolts and washers so it should stay put."

Let's try to keep informational threads businesslike, guys, so people don't quit reading them because of too many cottonballs to wade through. I'm askin' nice ... :-$

The Speelyai sign reportedly is back up, and this time it's been screwed to the kiosk (with PacificPower's permission) so it won't blow down again.

Was informed by a WDFW representative that the signs that were damaged or stolen or whatever will be replaced...
