I usually hit up Snohomish and Skagit county, for the most part. Any place that I can launch, mainly smaller lakes.

I usually toss BBZ's, Kong's, some Hudds, Diawa DOA, Wake jr, stuff like that, mainly the big boys. I do throw the paddletail style baits, but that has minly replaced my spinnerbaits. I dont consider them swimbaits, but they do work decently for numbers more than anything.

One thing I gotta say is that a lot of people in this area think because they havent seen or caught a big fish in a certain lake, think there isnt any hogs there. That is a HUGE misconception. If you keep catching dinks, tie on a bigger lure, it could be that simple. I know it happens, but ya cant really expect to yank in hogs with 3" senko or something. Had to get that off my back, weeeewwww, now I fell better.

Couldn't say it better myself,..alot of members have nice outtings D-Shotting Senkos and Creatures and so forth,..I myself can't stand that Rig and refuse 2 use it no matter who's catching what on it,..but that's just me,.. this close last weekend 2 buying that Spro BBZ,..needed the money for something else or I would have,..Bastradamus uses alot of Big Swims and catches Bigguns,..Big Swims work wonders for me,..I use an 8'6" Rod for the distance and it's nice,..if I miss a strike and toss again and nothing happens I'll throw maybe a Chatter at them,..but seldom will I throw a worm,..hardly ever T-Rig/C-Rig/D-Shot,..just dosen't work for me and believe me I have tried,..plus it's a very boring way 2 Bass,..JMO,..! Good job SONNN,..you have 2 meet my crew! You'd fit right in! BTW SONNN nice pics!

Come on Bav... I know that you have had some great days on the water. You and your boys really know how to kill them. (I mean catch and release them with success). You had better get posting on the trophy board...I'm waiting Image

I have given the D-shot a go, but just like you said, I just dont like that style of fishin. I do use plastics from time to time, but thats when there is a frog bite (I cant pass that up), or if its just not swimbait time. But, when I do toss plastics, they are pretty big. I have been tossin some 10" senkos, but Im still tryin to figure out the best way and when to use them.

I know Basstradamus well. He is doin very well this year on the swimmies.

I use an Okuma 7'6" Heavy for the big swimmies, smaller ones I use a 7'6" MedHvy Shimano. As long as its a quality rod, I dont see a need to go bigger. My friends have some 7'11", they are great, but just a little too long for me.

Im always down BB

Oh ya, we do well, but I personally dont like the small stuff. Nothing against it at all, just not for me. I just find it overly ammusing when someone says there is no pigs, just small ones, but they arent really tossing what a hog would like.(in my eyes)

One of the best things I have ever read: (not exact qoute) A bass wants the most amount of calories for the least amount of energy spent feeding.
If that means I have a better chance to catch a hog by tossin an "injured" trout, perch, whatever, then thats what Im gonna do. There is something satisfying aboot tossin an 8" bait, waiting for that big crush...

Sometimes them big lures just dont work though. Its pretty hard to tell a swimbait day from a non-swimbait day. But, there is only one way to find out, toss em.

I do better on the frogs on more sunny days. I do and will toss them on cloudy days, but the sun is where its at.

Where you normally goin BB?
