who is ready for steelhead to open on the snake i know i am and im hitting it hard this year atleast 2 full weekends a month im goin aug 31 so i can wake real early monday and start fishing opening day ill be fishing mostly wawawai landing with sand shrimp and jigs or bluefoxes during the day and laser lures at night, so where are you all goin to fish on the snake and what are you using?

Are you planning on camping out at the Park there? I'm also considering taking my boat and camping out there so that I can fish all day.

Oh I'll be fishing ! :) I don't know if it'll be the 31st or not. My neighbor and I plan to try and hit the steelhead at Wawawai. This fall as well. :)

Any tips I have never fished for steelhead before. I hear shrimp and jigs is the way to go. Could you recommend pole size or line strength to see if I'm already setup?

i use a 7 med heavy action pole with 15 lb test its pline flurocarbon during the day i use bucktail jigs with pink dyed sand shrimp and shrimp oil and also size 4 blue foxes copper on cloudy days and silver on bright days and i use flashing crank baits and monday ill be trying some jigs that i put glow in the dark paint on and go in the dark paint on blue fox too

no steelhead on this trip hopefully the next one did see one guy that caught a 18 pound king
