Apparently there's a community of East European immigrants -- Russians, Ukrainians, Baltics, Slavs, etc. -- in the Portland-Vancouver area. They frequently come up to Speelyai Bay for weddings and recreation. On this occasion, a group of young people who had been swimming got out of the water and changed in the parking lot as we came in at the end of the day. People from that part of the world don't suffer from our Victorian inhibitions, and this group stripped off their swim trunks and bikinis in the parking lot right in front of us.

I have an idea! For one of our winter chapter meetings, let's hire a stripper and spend the entire evening practicing tying barrel knots! We'll probably see our membership double in one month!

Congrats to the winners, runner ups and the honorable mentions for the Merwin Tournament. You all did better than I did fishing/camping at priest lake with a 20" lake trout hooked and lost at boat side.

As far as next month's stripper/barrel knot tying meeting where is it going to be held? I don't think round table pizza will appreciate cleaning up the pizza and spilled beer off the floor after the stripper knocks it on the floor to perform some table dancing although I definitely need to work on tying some of my knots!!

If you'd change your knot of choice from the barrel to the palomar or double palomar, I'm sure you wouldn't be tired enough to mess it up and leave a lure in one of your/our fish! It's an easier and stonger knot! Thus, you'd land more fish and probably tripple our membership once they saw all those huge fish from Merwin!!!!! Then we could donate the stripper savings to WL.com and not offend our female members.

Just a thought.
