Trout Fishing

Post by Proverb » Fri Aug 01, 2008 7:14 pm

Alright so I braved it and went trout fishing. I got skunked which never happens when I go bass fishing. But I'm going again Sunday with a close friend who is a really good trout fisherman so I'm going to learn how properly.

But I wanted to share what I thought was funny. I was using a trout spinner and I was skipping it under a tree up stream from me and pulling it back down stream. When I casted it I messed up and ended up wrapping it around a tree that was crossing a stream like 17 feet up. It spun around really good several times so I parted with the spinner and cut the line. I switched to bobber after that and was lazily casting it up stream enjoying the scene when about 20 minutes later a trout leaps from the water like 5 feet to bite the line still attached to my lost spinner. It scared the hell out of my wife and I who were just relaxing because it leapt at us and barely landed back in the stream and took off. I was amused heh.

My son and I were fishing last week, he cast out his bobber and worm combo, snapped the line in mid cast...well, about a minute later his bobber goes under. Fish on. We kept on seeing the bobber going across the pond..It finally got close enough to the shore for me to get it. After trying and trying to get it back, the bobber shot off and we never saw it again..
