Trout Lake - Saturday AM - Aug 9

Post by AaronE » Fri Aug 08, 2008 7:38 pm

I'm braving the rain and hitting Trout Lake (King) tomorrow (Saturday) AM. Planning on launching just before sun-up. If anyone wants to join me, come on out and introduce yourself. I'll be the wet guy in the yellow float tube :cheers:

Would love to Aaron but I work and it's out of my range. But I wish you the best of luck. Let me know next time you fish my area!

As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.

Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health.

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of poop
There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service.

I had one miss on a topwater frog and a few misses on chartreuse/pepper tubes dropshotted about 18" off the bottom. Didn't land anything and discovered my waders have a leak.

And you had more rain gear than me, dude! You at least had a jacket on LOL I was soaked to the bones by the time I got home at 9am.

I might could make it. I have to take my wife to her company picnic, leaving the house about 10am or so. I might could swing by at sun-up and fish until 9 or so. Depends on if she's in a bad mood or not hehe...

made it out there just after first light. used a spro frog pretty much the whole time i was there. started out fishing open water and as the sun came up fished the thick lillys. right at the launch i had a couple of nice blowups on the frog, turns out it was a huge bullfrog going after my lure. it even took my frog under twice, when it realized my frog wasnt reel it freaked out and took off. one other really good blow up and that was it for the morning. so no fish landed but lots of fun.
