Hi kids,
First I want to say thanks to Bad Esox for setting me up to fish with this guy named Gordy Hastreiter. He's a Wisconsin guy that fishes Muskies alot back in the Rhinelander,Oneida and Vilas Counties in Wisconsin. He doesn't fish as much as he used to but when he does he's got 100% of his heart in it. And for the record Bad Esox, he does fish Minnesota too! Anyway he came out this way for a vacation. Went down to Northern California tried fishing for sharks but got none. I hooked up with Gordy on August 1st and fished Mayfield Lake. Before he came out I told him to down size a bit for these Tigers really are not hitting the BIG lures yet...So we go out. Saw around a dozen Tigers cruising around and had 2 follows. He was thrilled to see these fish. He commented on the colors and how healthy our fish and fishery seems to be.
Anyway downsize remember..he picks up and throws these 16 oz Bulldawgs. You ever pick up a big sponge let it soak up all the water it can and then let it hit the cement? Thats exactly what it sounded like...But like he said..BIG BAIT=BIG FISH. Back in Wisconsin anyways..Good time was had by all...."popular" I have heard from a fisherman recently. Tell me how often do guys and girls come out here to fish our Tigers. We have had folks from Iowa, Wisconsin and all over the Midwest and East Coast travel all the way out to the Great Northwest to fish these critters..Its a little more than just "Popular"...its an addiction..If you don't have it, you'll never know and you'll have to get it to GET IT!
Anyway got off subject a bit...check out Gordy's website he is the President of Badfish Outdoors Film Company,INC...go to www.badfishoutdoors.net Thanks,Muskyhunter
