I'm casting up some shakey head jigs in the garage and wondered if people preferred the round head ones that have the worm screw and are weedless or the ones that sit on the bottom in the upright position.
I'd be on the fence about which I preferred if I hadn't borrowed a mould from a friend.

RE:shakey head jigs
Shaky heads are more of a technique, not a type of jig head anyway. In the "old days", we used foot ball jigs heads because we thought that it would roll the hook up and down and add to the movement, while keeping the hook more or less straight up.
Stand up jigs seem to work better, but because worms are made of plastic that is pretty much able to float a little, you can get almost any style, including straight round jigs, to work most of the time.

Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

Yes, I have his. I planned on returning them today...but found out he has one more day of vacation.2000subaru wrote:Dilberts Do-it jig mold with the round jigs have done we wonderfully, as for his luck.....well...not so much. Something tells me that you might have it in your possesion.
I've used roundhead jigs before and discovered if they set on the bottom they roll over and get snagged easily. When I used to fish Neah Bay for the "sea bass" I ballparked losing 8-10 jigs per day to the rocks.
That's why I asked about the other version that will stand up on the bottom.
