Lures
Hey guys I'm sure you are asked this a lot. I just fell into a 40 dollar amazon gift card and need some suggestions on which lures to purchase. I am hoping to catch bass so any suggestions would be great. I already have some plastic worms, grubs because I mostly jig and texas. I've been interested in Swimbait, crank and stuff but I have no idea what's good and where to start.

Where to start......
If you want to get some cranks, you can always shop the bargain cave at cabelas. Just try and get enough to cover the water column that you intend to fish. I like the look of the Berkley Hollowbelly swimbait, and I just picked up a Strike King hollowbody to try out. I'm not the expert here though....just another opinion.

Some old bass standby's that are pretty much in every tackle box -
Crankbait - fire tiger perch pattern.
Rapala - floating minnow, solid and jointed.
Buzzbaits and spinnerbaits, various colors (black for stained water, natural/lights for clearer water).
Weedless jigs - you can never have too many weedless jigs. Black/blue and pumpkinseed/orange are lethal combinations depending on where you're fishing. And with jigs you'll want a trailer, either pork (jig'n'pig) or plastic (2" craw, for example).
Top-water popper, like a Hula Popper, Jitterbug, etc - essentially any top-water plug with a concave mouth or scoop to draw attention from bass, typically fished early in the morning, at sunset, or at night, when bass are targeting top-water baitfish.
With $40 you won't be able to fill a tacklebox, but you can pick up a few of these on the cheap through Amazon. Compare prices, compare reviews, then go catch some fish

Offer the gift card in lieu of cash since most people know how to use gift cards. I bought my last set of car stereo speakers using a $50 Mariners gift card hehe....Proverb wrote:heh thanks guys.
Brownbomber I'm using an amazon giftcard to buy them. Sorry. Maybe next time unless you are in need of a giftcard lol.

RE:Lures
some good lures to start with if your targeting bass, would be some jointed shad raps, I like the fire craw the best. I also have a lot of luck with rapala DT's.

RE:Lures
I too fell into a $100.00 gift card at Amazon... I thought I would load up on bass gear. but the more I looked at what they offered, the more I thought it looked kinda like junk. The soft plastics were extremely limited in variety. They just didn't compare with the look of quality that you would fine elsewhere, Cabellas etc. or most of the online bass shops. I put my gift card towards a urinal for the boat, LOL.

lol Quad. Yeah the more I look the more I think it's not worth it. Find a packet for 4 dollars and you end up paying 8 dollars for shipping. I think I may just buy a fish scale or a beginner fly rod and reel.
