Hawser in Idaho has some monster Cats. Go to Cabelas in Post Falls, go back to the fishing counter, ask to see the photos.
Next closest that I know of is either the Snake new Lewiston or the Yakima near the mouth.
I see that the state has some special opportunities for Cats in the Grand Rounde River in Asotin County, but I have never fished it during the summer.

Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

Many lakes have catfish but mostly bullheads. They are nasty! I caught one in Cassidy a few weeks ago and my hands were coated with a thick layer of black slime after handling him.
Channel cats are fun to catch and great for the table. Unfortunately they are scarce in these parts...

Id like to find some channel cats..... something bigger than the 6 inch bullheads that live around here
RE:Catfish anyone?
They said they put channel cats back in sprague but I havent heard any thing on them yet. it may take a couple years. I'd like to find them some where as well. one of the guys at the white elephant in the valley fished sprague a lot last year. I wounder where he is going now.

Lyons ferry is the channel cat spot that I know of, where the Palouse river meets the snake there are some monster mudflats that they seem to like.

Do you fish Lyons at night? I'v been to central ferry a fiew times its a bit of a drive, nice fish in there, used worms one time and the SMB kept steeling them, the hooks were too big. so i use chicken liver more than any thing for cats.
RE:Catfish anyone?
Well according to posts in other forums Sprague had some good sized channel cats in it....i've only ever caught pan sized bullhead. If you want to catch a lot of bullhead go get a Res. license and hit the Pend Oreille River in the Cusick area, the slough has tons of them. My buddy's parents would go down about 3 times a year and bring back a 50 gallon cooler full of them.

My cousin hits the palouse flats area during the day, but a cat is a cat, so whatever tactics you used there should apply. Bass should be less prevalent, its pretty muddy in there.
