resorts section?

Post by ruthven78 » Mon Jul 14, 2008 12:42 pm

How about an area where people to rate resorts as far as facilities, value, RV spots, docks, customer service, etc. Put in a small description of the resorts such as location, services available, maybe even a fishing rating too.

I would use the thread and contribute to it I have my own spredsheet going on with this subject

Good idea. It would be nice to hear about great places we all go to camp and get away. It would also be helpful when deciding where to take our next vacation or extended weekend camp trip.

There's just a couple issues with a resort section. First, as mentioned, is great free advertising for all those resorts that aren't already signed up as sponsors - not so fair to the ones that have stepped forward to help support this site.

Second issue - negative comments or ratings. When it happens I get e-mails from upset businesses. Not my idea of fun dealing with that particular headache.

So for now I'm going to continue with the policy in place since this site started - no mentions for resorts that don't support the site. Over the years I've sent out hundreds of flyers and letters, made phone calls, and kept the cost really low. If a resort isn't a sponsor they can't say they've never had a chance to become one.
