RE:What is your Biggest?
Here is a question I have reading this thread- Fishing those heavy lines like that and having a fish wrap a log wouldn't the fish become tied to tha log? I would think that a fish could die very easily if the line was to strong for the fish to break. I had a bass tie up to a tree with 30 lb braid and I had to dive to free it#-o

No matter what you say, I know your crazy and full of it anyway! I hope your not tring to tell that Mayfield Story AGAIN!! LOL!muskyhunter wrote:My biggest was a 45x 20 at Tapps. The biggest I've seen is at a lake down south. If I said how big it was you'd all think I was crazy and full of shazzbat. Its unphathomable...really!

Hey Taz, I looked through your bucket and I didn't see that diving picture either! LOL! Actually I have dove for a LM too. I would never even hesitate diving for a musky, unless it was deeper than say 12ft or so! Once the fish brakes off the line I think it'd be able to swim off, unless the treble was stuck in the log at the same time. Hope I proof read this one enough!bigbasstaz wrote:Here is a question I have reading this thread- Fishing those heavy lines like that and having a fish wrap a log wouldn't the fish become tied to tha log? RE:What is your Biggest?
The 47.5 inch fish that I hooked and my grandfather landed at Newman last year was my biggest. Weighed 25lbs on the scale I had which I have since thrown out. Tested it this year after I weighed a pike at 18 that I was pretty sure was 20+. We weighed my 20lb anchor and rope on a new digital scale and it was 21lbs. Then we weighed it on my scale and it was 18. So my 18lb pike was ~21lbs and the 47.5 inch musky was ??? Took a girth with a very thin tape (1/4"). It was 20-21inches. Did this on the next fish and realized that with a narrow tape it wasn't accurate because the tape was sinking into the fish's mass. Healthy fish though.
