When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

WOW RACFISH. THAT PHOTO TAKES ME WAYYYY BACK!! USED TO BE A DECENT FISHERY BACK IN THE DAY!!! WE LIVED OVER IN SOUTHPARK DURING THIS TIME (I WAS A LIL GUY), AND, SPENT ALOT OF TIME OUT AT ALKI WITH MY MOTHER, WHILE MY DAD WORKED AT BOEING! I THINK THAT WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE TIME "SPUDS" OPENED UP OUT THERE, ALTHOUGH, MY MEMORY IS A LIL CLOUDY! GOOD JOB ON THE DOWNLOAD!!

Looks like a couple of hip cats! (did I get the lingo right, I wasn't born yet then)

I wish those hairstyles would come back.

I'll get me one just as soon as they do come back.

Eagle Claw saltwater casting rod most likely.I only owned Eagle Claws or Fenwicks back then.In that pic there are some landmarks missing also.No Dome,no Columbia center.I had a full legnth leather like shaft did.It was blue suede.I was pimpin back then.We were all Franklin High Thugs back then.Hehehe.Now its like the total opposite. Funny how life changes through the years.

racfish,
That's a great pic. I barely remember 1969. Or '70, or '71... I had just gotten out of the Army and started a college career that was thwarted in '72. I had to go to work to survive. Your pic reminds me of "Starsky & Hutch". Anybody remember those guys? One of them is being used in a TV commercial these days about debt reduction services. MY! How life changes.
Where you go is less important than how you get there.

Zen ? That is a wooden rod.I went home to look at it and the base is a real hardwood handle.Still got it and I still use it too.My house is a fishing gear museum.I have old Pearl Wobblers with the red dot on the mother of pearl with a single 6/0 hook on it.I'm unfortunately a true fishing gear packrat.

That time period brings back this image to mind.
