Yamamoto Kinami?

Im trying to get some nice bass this year, and i know Senkos are a must.
But with the stores in walking distance (sports authority, fred meyer :( ) to me i cant find senkos, but there are these gary yamamoto kinami things. They look like senkos, but i dont know if they actually work/produce like them.
Anybody tried these?

Gary Yamamoto and Kinami senkos are basically the same thing. Kinami is ran by Gary's brother. You will notice the Kinami packs are cheaper than Yamamoto, particularly senkos. Thats because the Kinami packs only come in 7 packs when Yamamoto's come in 10. Don't be fooled, but if thats all they carry close by, Kinami "Flash" are fine.

Senkos and/or any other lures for bass are not really a "must" to get nice bass.

The biggest bass I've ever caught, were caught on soft plastic 3-inch grubs from the clearance bins at Kmart and Sport Authority etc. that I bought years ago. I still have a few and its mostly what I still use. Those were cheap Kalin grubs in the plastic pouches (pack of 10?), in copper or brown color. Deadly for smallies in Lake Samm or Lake WA.

I have some Kinami 5 inch senkos...Black with purple flake. Yet to even crack it open, but they look good....

Senkos might not be a "must" to get nice bass, but they are certainly among the very best choices. If you google all of the biggest bass caught in recent years, and I'm talking over 10 lbs, the vast majority that are caught on artificial lures (many are caught on live shiners in states like Florida where it is legal) are caught on either swimbaits or senkos.

Senkos are the most accessible, easy to fish lure that gives you a legitimate chance to hook into a giant bass, because for some magical reason, bass of all sizes just can't leave them alone.

Fred Meyer should have a few Senko's on the rack. Everyone I've been to carries them. Don't forget to look for the clearance section. I have recently picked up some roboworms and various tackle. You'll find it at Fred Meyer.

the one in kent doesnt have them either.

i also agree with Shad_Eating_Grin put almost any soft plastic in a bass face and with the proper presentation it will eat it. i have caught some nice bass on those kalins grubs. i got about 7 different colors of them.

They are actually priced about the same. The key is that senkos come in packs of 10 and Kinamis come in packs of 7. This is where the price of Kinamis seems cheaper. You're being shorted 3 baits. If you do an approximate price to bait, the price for both will be close.

One last thing. The Japanese word Senko translates to English as flash. It should no longer be a wonder that Kinami lures are called Flash.:bom:
