Has anyone used a Klawdad or Klawbaby?

Post by HillbillyGeek » Tue Apr 15, 2008 6:08 pm

I stopped by Jerry's Surplus in Everett today and they had the Luhr-Jensen Klawdad and Klawbaby crankbaits on sale for $2.88 (regular price = $5.49).

I've never tried these lures but they look good -- and the price was right. A little crayfish lunker lotion should make em smell good enough to eat! Water temps are still a little chilly for crayfish right now. They don't become active until temps are 56+ degrees. I'll field test these in a couple of weeks.

I had that one on the right there. Really good colors to match the Crawdads in Lake WA...Too bad I snagged it first time out...Haven't been able to find em again since...

I have a couple of them. I've had problems with the hooks fouling in the line on retrieves and I don't like the amount of drag they have on a normal speed retrieve but that might just be me. The good part about them is they do have alot of action and the rattle is loud.

Give it a go! Try the green one in the early season and the brown in the summer and into fall.

there are some other companys that make some outstanding craw cranks. but those should do the trick. throw the greener one till spring is over. and then pick up the spring craw what i call. a yellow, brown, and orange mix.

I've used em, I like em, they bounce off rocks better than most crankbaits, and they work very well.

I have other crankbaits I like a little better, but your not going to get the ones I have away from me.
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.
