This is my personal set up.
Drop shot: 6-8lb flouro
Jerkbaits and senkos: 8lb flouro
Crankbaits: 10-12lb mono
Spinnerbaits: 12-14lb mono, I'll go heavier in with lots of vegetation and big fish.
Jigs: 14lb-17lb mono
Carolina/texas rigs: 12lb to 14lb
Lots of people like throwing fluoro for everything, and adjusting the rod power and action based on fluoro, that can get too expensive for me. I like buying mono buy the 1000yard spool.

Chris i just recently tried out Gamma line instead of my normal p-line cxx and i have too say im very impressed with it .. It seems to be a little bit more softer than p-line which gave me more distance on my cast .. I was so impressed that i used it on lk samm last sat & sun tourneys...I used 12lb test on my 3/4 football head and it held up very well .. how much time on the water you had with it ?? ... BBD

I like mono because it's cheap, has low visibility and good knot strength. A couple of years ago I stocked up on some line bass pro shops was selling in the outlet store called "Red Wolf". It's made by Pure Fishing, which is the same company that makes Trilene, Stren, Spiderwire, and fireline. I have been very happy with it, and I've never seen a better deal than $4 for 1,800 yards! I usually respool before every fishing trip, but it depends on the types of lures I've been using. Spoons and soft plastics tend cause more line twist than crankbaits and jigs.kzoo wrote:This is my personal set up.

Oh yeah, I've heard people say that they like braid because it doesn't have any memory. That's simply not true. Braid has less memory than other types of line, but when it becomes very twisted, your reel will puke out huge wads that are impossible to untangle. Twisted braid also loses strength and will break more easily. Been there, done that...
