From my experience I wouldn't exactly fish the shallows or sight fish just yet. Look for your bass to be in the drop-offs next to the shallows. They will be set up for the panfish to move in to the shallows.

I agree with bigbasstaz, it has been my experience that if the sunfish are on beds the largemouth are done spawning.

A black worm works good early for me.(some thing like a strike king with a lot of movement) You can work it slow. All fish will be feeding getting there energy/reserves up. They are still moving slow. The strike zone will be smaller, meaning you will have to get your bait close I would go with 8 pound test max line. This is also a good time of year for a craw fish bait.

Thanks fishing machine you totally got most of my posting info out of me.#-o
Hope I helped though. Another thing is keep an eye out for what is moving around in your little lake. Bass fishing can be like fly fishing.(you got to match the active food source )

Like I said look for a food source and try to match that.

Here's what I know about water temperatures, only because I've been to 4 lakes in the last 4 days.

1. Beaver - Water Temp 48.5F
2. Boren - Water Temp 49.2F
3. Bitter - Water Temp 51.4F
4. Lake Washington - Water Temp 47.1F

These readings came from my Eagle fish finder. I claim to know nothing about catching freshwater bass, but I just wanted to pass on my first hand knowledge of recent water temperatures from some of our lakes. I think it would be safe to say that the bass probably aren't on their beds right now. I hope this helps you fishingmachine.

Your lake isn't very big I would try to find my own patterns.Every lake/pond is different.
Fish around until you find something working. Try the soft plastics and maybe a small rattle trap. LOOK FOR THE NATURAL FOOD SOURCE!

FM. you've asked this plenty times already. Please, dude, you don't need to fill up this thread with stuff like this. A few hours ago there were like 5 responses. Now there are like 35 and most of them are you saying the same stuff, which makes it hard to sift through peoples posts...

Any way you fish for them fish it slow. Like I said the bait will have to get closer for longer than normal.

If you are finding a place the perch are schooling try a BIGGER bass bait around that area chances are a bass is waiting for a littler perch to get to close.
