Funniest "Bill Dance" like moment....

Post by Edgeran » Tue May 22, 2007 1:24 pm

It all started with the excitement of Mr. Magler hooking into a nice Lk. Roesiger largie. :d/ The fish is released and the day continues, Drewp and myself grab our poles to continue fishing and Mr. Magler asks, "Where's my pole?" :-k It ends with us dragging the bottom of the lake with a monster treble hook to try and snag the rod. The rod was never retrieved and she is missed to this day. All 6'6'' of her. :-({|= And......scene.

-Guess you had to be there........I laughed

Mr. Magler 0 - Lk. Roesiger 1.

If you're keeping score, Edgeran, I'd say I'm still up on Lk Roesiger. One lost pole is worth all the good fishing we had there last summer! :d/

How about Lake Bozworth, 3 dudes in a rubber raft, 2 of which pulled an all nighter drinking the champagne of beers, an upsidedown snowboard as a middle bench seat, and a seam that blows out? Yeah, talk about a $hit-show. So after a futile effort from Mr. Magler of putting a chunk of powerbait on the blown seam to stop the leak, we had to kick our way over to a floating dock about 20 feet away in full raingear. Some fishermen in a boat near the shore watched the whole thing and picked us up, I wish they had a videocamera.

We continued to fish from the floating dock until we were picked up, and managed to make it to the dock without losing any gear - including our snowboard seat. It was a nice one to stick in the old, "experience jar."

1. On the opposite end of West Medical from the launch many years ago in a small 2 person raft. Only had one oar, and the paddle part screwed into the handle part. Needless to say the paddle unscrewed and i watched it sink into the briny deep. If you've ever been to West Medical, you know it's not a lake you want to swim in. About a 45 minute ride as a hung out the back of the raft and kicked with my feet.

2. Duck hunting out at Long Lake. Must have been December. The ice had pushed up the shore several feet and it was dark. Of course I slipped and fell, struggled on the ice trying to gain a hold for over a minute as I slowly slid down into the drink. Went in about 2 feet, just enough for the water to get over the tops of my boots. That was a cold truck ride home.

3-50. Falling into the lake while: retrieving a lure hung on a dock, hitting a rock/log/sandbar, getting in/out for other reasons. I usually hit the water at least 2-3 times a year.
