Post by shawn » Mon Mar 24, 2008 10:21 am

Here is the link to the trout stocking for this year I was really surprised by the numbers some lakes get.http://wdfw.wa.gov/fish/plants/2008stocking.pdf

Take a peek and see whats coming to your neck of the wooods or favorite lake.

Thanks for the link shawn.

Beaver is getting 15,000 kokanee fry?! Did I read that right? Alice is getting less than in years past at only 3,250 but Margaret is getting a good 6,500 along with 7,100 baby cutts. Cottage is going with 10,000 (8-12" ers) again with a good fry plant and Rattlesnake is getting a good dumping along with 500 TRB's in April...I can't believe Beaver Lake is getting Kokanee, is this a new thing?

I think its a mistake may be 1 to many 0s but it says the lake I fish all the time is getting 25,000 8-12 inchers. But if that is the case wow.Ussualy it only gets 2,500 or 3,000 plants but we will see.

Beaver has been getting koke and rainbow fry plants for several years. The WDFW site has the specific numbers of koke fry stockings in Beaver, since 1999.

Good to know Shad_Eating_Grin. I guess I've never ran across one all the days I've fished that area; I guess the bass and trout are well fed. Thanks for the heads-up.

25,000? That is a lot. It would be great but still hard to believe. If so, more bass food. :thumleft:
Thanks for the link man, I have been looking for this.

Interesting. On the stocking sheet shawn posted, it mentions that Beaver is getting stocked in April. However, as posted in the weekly trout plants, it already got planted... ???

Triploids AND the regular stockers are said to be stocked in April on that 2008 stocking plan...

It says "approximate time to be stocked" in the stocking plan, and also says "The locations, dates, and times presented are based on current information, so unavoidable changes may occur."

A bit of advice.

Don't pay too much attention to the dates on the stocking plan, but pay close attention to the weekly stocking reports. Getting all the fish out in time for the opener is a logistical nightmare. Also, call the bio in charge or the hatchery that is going to stock the lakes.....most will tell you the day it is to be stocked if they know.
