is the trophy board that is now set up for new catch's only, or can there be past post's or previously caught fish? it doesn't say anything about rules for the post of when the fish were caught!

Pretty Fish -- Trophy Fish? Actually, most bass anglers here in Washington that I have known over many years consider the 4 pound smallmouth and the 5 pound largemouth as trophys. Sure, many of us have caught much larger bass but I doubt if the site will be overloaded with the 4 & 5 pound weights. It would be nice to see just how many lunker lakes would show up in the year 2008 - fish that were caught in 2008. I would also like to see the length, the winning lure, the county and lake name and the date caught all included in the report. And -- I was looking at digital scales in Bass Pro and I also checked at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart has a 50 pound Berkley digital for $19.99. I am not familiar with the scale and don't know how accurate it would be at the 4-5 pound range. Spring and great bass fishing in almost here. Good luck all.
A nice bass is too valuable a resource to enjoy catching only once.

I probably catch between 15-25 4lb smallies a year, and there are many more guys on here catching the same if not more. That's alot of smallies!!!!! However, I am still waiting on my first 5lb'er. 4lb smallies arent that uncommon. I haven't had a co-basser yet call me up on the cell while they were on the water to tell me they just boated a 4lb smallie, better believe they call when they boat a 5lb'er.

When you think you know it all, its time to quit. Knowledge should be gained on every trip.

those are very interesting numbers. i too am waiting for the elusive 5+ smalljaw, and officially chalk that one up in my record book. there are only a handful of people i know who have caught a 5+.

i believe i caught one before when i was in highschool, as it measured 24+ inches, and was the biggest fish i landed at the time. that was back then though, and there is noway to prove it was a 5+. i wish i had the pictures, no as proof, but simply as a memento of my childhood.

the biggest smmth i caught in my yeeaarrss of fishing was 4 1/2 lbs. i've caught many lrgmth 5+ lbs but under 6 in as many yeeaarrss! untill the 8lb,4oz. last year so for most the 5 and 6 rule would be out reach of most people that use this site to be able to post any lunker pict's.](*,)

Someone needs to just lay down the rules...one post...with the list of rules as far as size and what needs to be included in the description. If all possible take a pic with the fish on the scale for better proof.
