Ability to delete posts...

Post by A9 » Thu Feb 07, 2008 2:03 am

I'd like to be able to completely delete posts...Anytime I have the accidental double post or just for some odd reason I feel like deleting a post I have to just edit it and completely erase everything...Would be nice to be able to completely delete a post...

I'm not sure what option buttons you have. As a moderator, I have an edit and delete button. You should be able to click on edit and delete the post. If you can't, PM a moderator and we can do it.

ditto. The Forum has seperate code from WL.com and I know Aaron is reluctant to fool with it and cause unknown problems to erupt.

That's a good point, but a delete button would be better than going back and manually editing the post by deleting the text because the post still registers. I think a mandatory delete button would be a good idea. Just my 2Cents.

They can't set it up so a member can only delete his own post. Deletion is an administrative action. That is to keep someone from deleting an other persons post just because they didn't like it.

PM a moderator if you want a post deleted. That is what we are here for, to help out. It's no big inconvenience. I have several times in the past deleted duplicate posts when I run across them.

That works too. Thanks for doing that that Marc. I'll remember that in future if I need to delete a post or two.
