Very slow right now, was down there this morning with only 3 fish being seen confirmed hooked, 2 out of the 3 were natives, no real size to them yet... There was a few reports posed on here about speaking to the locals and fish being in small numbers... With no rain we wont see a push anytime soon. Best guestimate mid september... Let the combat fishery begin...

How crazy is this fishery? Is it honestly shoulder to shoulder 24/7 or just on the weekends? What if I were to go there like 6 am on a Thursday? Thanks. As for your question DJ, I haven't fished this fishery but I know for kings drift fishing corkies works well but there probably isn't enough space to do that at that river I assume?

Locals using just a jig are waiting for the fish to swim into their line for a floss. The jig simply sits in the mud.
Now I guess you could float fish or twitch jigs. But float or free drifting eggs or spinners are normally the gotos for proper fishing.
Good luck, give a report back please. I'm itching to go myself but don't have a day off until friday.

Drifting corky n yarn works good and you could even add some eggs to it.. If you fish at high tide there will be way less people and you can throw spinners/spoons

So my question is how do I get pass not paying an entrance fee. Everywhere I've tried to get in there is always someone asking for money to access points. Now I've paid for my fishing license and refuse to pay extra for just a chance at some muddy kings I also don't want to piss off any of the locals or disrespect any private property. Any suggestions would be great. If you don't want to post online and let everyone know you can always pm me. Thanks and any help would gladly appreciated.

I apologize to keep asking questions but last year there was a fence to some of the spots I wanted to fish. Is anyone aware of this, are they still there or not?

I know the landowner at bow road did not allow access the year before last, this year cars are all over it..... Tides should be on par tomorrow and thru next week so i'm gonna go and join the crowds...

Fished it yesterday, had no takers, however fish are being caught in good numbers if you wish to floss near the walls... i couldn't believe the jig sizes they are using...( some 1 and 2 oz jigs with maribou feathers...) Some as big as my hand....

2 oz?? geez....definitely not twitching jigs. I have not personally fished the samish, but it sounds like somewhere I do not want to be. If its anything like whatcom creek I'm good haha. I would rather be on the nooksack even though they are much harder
