Skykomish Reiter Ponds
Just curious to get some opinions from you guys. So what this recent rain we have been having I've been watching the skykomish River rise higher than I've seen in a long time. So here the question. What CFS at Reiter ponds would you consider blown out or unfishable. I have about an hour drive out there and I'm trying to get out this Sunday and wouldn't wanna waste the gas if it's blown out.
Thanks in advance

Reiter is fishable IMO up to 11k. Anything over that isn't worth it.

Re: Skykomish Reiter Ponds
Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. Blown has to do with the amount of sediment and debris. As long as the Skykomish is on the drop, it should be fishable. The problem is access. When the water line is up to the bushes it gets tuff. I don't go when the gage reads over 10 feet. I don't like fighting the bushes when I try to cast.
Re: Skykomish Reiter Ponds
Blown to me is extreme high water, mud brown water, rapids where a good hole usually is, trees in the river. As soon as it drops it gets good.

As of right now Sky is sitting at 24k. Beyond blown.

Wow river is way up there now. 53K I don't think I've ever seen it this high scenes I've been reading the gauges regularly. Hopefully we will see some good fish making their way into the system once the river starts to drop. I'm getting antsy now

Thanks Bent Rod. We were so focused on silvers and talking the hatchery area I thought coho was obvious. In fact I don't see how you could fish for Steel and not catch silvers...?? The greatest number of fish should be silvers. Oh well, I doubt there would be anybody up there checking. We get rain all next week.
I'm going to try the Columbia. Don't seem to be any odd closures there. Also, they are missing most of this rain.

if there were any normal number of silvers in the system that would be true.Goldrigger1 wrote:Thanks Bent Rod. We were so focused on silvers and talking the hatchery area I thought coho was obvious.
