If a river is closed for Steelies can I still target Whitefish?

The answer would depend on what the regs say for "other gamefish"

For instance for a particular section of the Snoqualmie, trout/steelhead season ended after Jan 31. That section of the river also closed after Jan 31 for "other gamefish" which would include whitefish:

TROUT First Sat. in June-Jan. 31 Min. size 14". Daily limit 2.
Other Game Fish First Sat. in June-Jan. 31 Statewide min. size/daily limit.

I mostly use divers and prawns for catching whitefish.
