Bass Fishing in or around Spokane

I am new to the Spokane area and I am looking for a good bass fishing lake. Where I can fish from the bank since I do not own a boat. I am hoping to get a cheap aluminun soon though.

Without a boat your going to have a very hard time finding bass. Long Lake (the spoakne river) has good smallmouth and largemouth fishing. Newman, Silver and Downs lake all provide bass in Spokane Co. I have never had good sucess at Sprauge. In summer the Grand Ronde River in Asotin county provided good smallmouth action and you can wade it, on public land down at Schmaker Grade (watch for rattle snakes). However again a drift boat will get you into better spots on that river as well.

Hello bustin,
There are a couple of ponds on the East end of the runway at Fairchild.
I am not sure if a guy can still get in to fish them,but its worth checking out.
Clear lake has Bass and you can find bank access on the North end.
I have had some good days on Smallmouth and Largemouth down at Hawk creek North of Davenport.
Porcupine Bay,7-Bays and Fort Spokane all have bank access and Bass.

Thank you all so much for the local tips. The idea of snakes really scares me though. I guess it is just something I will have to live with now.

Long Lake is one of the few places on the east side of the state where you have a legitimate chance of landing both largemouth and smallmouth over 5 lbs. There's shore access around the launch just passed the Nine Mile damn. Watch for the sign and turn left just before you go over the Little Spokane bridge. There's a trail heading north out of the parking lot that takes you out onto a peninsula with several spots to fish. I've seen both largies and smallies, squaw, carp, and suckers all caught from the shore. Get there early for the best spots though, it's a fairly popular place to shore fish.

Thanks for the tip Nik. I will certainly be checking that out. I have a huge list of Spokane areas to fish still waiting to check out.
