Re: Snohomish Coho
There are fish there...just a bit lock jawed...hopefully the rain this week is heavy enough to turn on the light switch. Dick Nite spoons should work just fine. Along with twitching jigs, spinners, plugs, eggs, etc.
Re: Snohomish Coho
Just need to put the right thing in front of them enough times. This weekend was good.

If you cast it, they will come....
Nice job Nate! I have been playing in the salt the last week or so, but I will be hitting that river with these rains that are coming! I can say that I am comfortably booked up through most of next month.

Fishing isn't a hobby, It isn't for fun. Fishing is life.

No kidding, the Sky is running at 610 cfs right now! lolmizm05 wrote:hopefully the rain this week is heavy enough to turn on the light switch.

Yup, they're biting. That tiny bit of rain we had made the difference though, Saturday the bite was much better than Sunday, although Sunday I only fished 3 hours. Saturday I went 5 for 8, and darned if the one that got away wouldn't have won the derby. Big fish was around 11 I think and it was 15+. Lost it under a tree at the confluence. There are some monsters rolling in there right now! I've been hooking them steady for a little more than a week now. I'll see you out there, no doubt, on the days I'm not fishing the coast.Steelheadin360 wrote:If you cast it, they will come....

Re: Snohomish Coho
Went out Saturday at 10 to catch the incoming tide. Went to the Pilchuck area. I didn't see rollers. I didn't see many fish on the fish finder. I had a couple of strikes on a Maglip 3.5 and a Wiggle Wart in FireTiger.
Some fish were caught, but few. Water a green color. Lots of boats out there. I talked to a lot of people and I'd say 1 silver for every 3 people. It looks like they are moving through quickly or the numbers haven't started to be there. Fish don't seem to be holding up in slower water.
Only my second year so that's what I can guess. Good luck.

Fish were MOVING this weekend. Great push around the Pilchuck Friday, They were below 522 Saturday, in the lower sky sunday and probably mid sky today and Wallace by tomorrow. Each day they bit different things and each day the bite got a little tougher. The scales were flying almost as fast as the fish.

Re: Snohomish Coho
I've never had trouble catching Silvers in the salt. But I've never been able to do much on them in fresh water. They must get lockjaw when I show up.
Re: Snohomish Coho
Been a total bust this year. Been out every weekend and have little to show for it. This time last year, my freezer was full of coho fillets and my bait freezer full of eggs. Think im gonna move on up the sky and see if i can get into fish.
Re: Snohomish Coho
I think a lot of people have busted out so far spoonman, don't feel bad! I have yet to get one landed but I intend to keep trying until the season ends. Then onto learning steelhead fishing while scouting new spots for next years run. :D
