This year I am going to try to pull away from plastics and try some hardbait fishing. I also want to start fishing a dropshot more effectively.

I bet my pontoon and dropshot will not only catch the first 6+ pounder in 2008 , ill also be looking forward too taking $50 bucks of your gas money when it happens rookie .. your people skills are out of control i might add . we fish too close to eachother through out the season for those kind of remarks !! hmmm i just had a weird thought of me accidently knocking you in the lake this year .. looking forward to season "danielson" !!! LOL :-({|=

i would also like to start using more hard baits like cranks and spinners because all i used last year was plastics like lizards and brush hogs weightless.

Cool thread...hope you bass-guys do not mind me poking in.

I have only been fishing for about two years now and am having a good time learning the ropes.

One improvement I will attempt this year is diversity. I have been challenged to catch all the species in my state. First I have to have a list of all species so that I have a measurable goal. I am compiling now a list of species of fish in Washington State. It is easy to find game fish and meat fish and “species of concern.” It is a bit harder to find lists of what most consider rough fish.

I would also like to look into making my own jigs or tying flies.

I think I am going to try getting a baitcasting reel and pole and learn that. I might even make spinners if I can figure out how to get the fish to attack the ones I have now.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

1.) gain confidence in jerkbaits
2.) catch a 5lb+ smallie
3.) figure out the dunes at the potholes
4.) try and catch some fish sight fishing
5.) fish the state qualifiers and learn a lot
