Shad with a float

Has anyone fished for shad using a dart or wee dick night under a float? Just wondering.

I haven't fished for shad in quite some time. However, I'll definitely try a slip bobber when I go again.

I have thought about doing the same and from I have gathered I would suggest running your presentation 8 to 12 inches from the bottom? Figure thats about the range if you are drifting it. Of course I have never tried it but figure that to be a good starting point.
