Post by Mike Carey » Tue Dec 17, 2013 12:14 pm

Announcing our Second Annual Kokanee Get-Together at Lake Chelan!

WHEN - May 3-4, 2014 (Saturday-Sunday)
WHERE - Lake Chelan
WHO - Open to ALL!
WHY - To enjoy some great spring kokanee fishing!

DETAILS:

We are excited to announce a Return to Lake Chelan. This year's event will be Better and Better! We have lot's of fun planned for everyone so be sure to mark your calendar, save the date, and come join us.

We'll be staying at Lakeshore RV Park in Chelan. http://cityofchelan.us/parks/rv/rv_park.aspx. You can call to reserve your space in advance (recommended). Last year the potluck was located at the Tent Pads area.

Happenings Saturday: Morning - Gone Fishing! Meet Saturday evening 5pm for group Potluck. After dinner, we'll be sharing gift packs from sponsors. You won't want to miss this as we are lining up a number of sponsors. Each angler will get a valuable gift package. In addition to the gift packs, we'll be running a free raffle with other prizes (to be announced). BS and Fish Catching Bragging are Welcome!

Happenings Sunday: Morning - Gone Fishing! Meet "on the water", share hot fishing locations by text messages. No formal closing ceremony.

What you Need: A boat, or arrangements to go out with someone that has a boat and a spot to share. Your own gear. An item for the Potluck (sign up on this thread and I'll update the list). WashingtonLakes.com will provide paper plates, cutlery, and napkins/towels. A reservation if you're staying overnight. Also, you don't have to stay at the campground, you are free to stay anywhere and drop in for the festivities. RSVP on this thread is requested.

WashingtonLakes.com wishes to thank our Sponsors for helping to make this an Exciting and Successful Event!

That sounds like so much fun... Wish I had a boat or a friend with one. Someday I will but just not now. :-({|=

Bothellfisher this should have a good turn out with a few extra seats for people who dont have a boat

Mike- Cant wait! Thanks for getting this together again!

To all the new people who are going to fish Lake Chelan for the first time Im sure any questions you have can be answered in a PM or on this thread. The fishing on this lake is WORLD CLASS for big Kokanee, Lake Trout and even Land locked Chinook. A few of us have this lake dailed in and Im sure wouldnt mind sharing a few tips and pointers on the fishing. I will be over there a few days before doing some scouting and Im sure lots of fish will be getting worked over!

Don't count it out, as Steelheading360 noted, there will surely be members with open seats. So I recommend you hold the date and put a request out there. You may well find someone to fish with.

I am very happy to announce that Anton Jones of Darrell and Dad's Family Guide Service is going to offer our members a 4 hour kokanee trip at half off per person for Saturday May 3rd, morning trip to help support our shore bound anglers at the 2nd Annual Lake Chelan Kokanee Event.

Your cost would be $67.50 plus tax.

You can contact Anton at http://www.darrellanddads.com/ to book your trip. Mention you are from WashingtonLakes.com to get the discounted rate. Space is limited so the sooner you contact him and book the better. If there is a strong enough interest he'll use both of his boats. This will be a party boat (sharing with other WL.com members) unless you have your own group of four, in which case you'll have the boat for your own.

This is a great deal. Anton has fished Lake Chelan for years and no one knows the lake better than him. If anyone can get you on 20"+ koks it would be Anton.

For those of you without a boat, don't miss this opportunity!

Yeah, you'll probably save that in gas not towing a boat out there.

I may have to make the trip up there as part of my big year. Have the burbot gone deep that time of year? I'd like to connect with that species in 2014.

Can you sleep on the boat? Or might it rain?

Oh ya, I keep forgetting, I'm so used to it raining all the time. I haven't been to the east side since May '03.
