Peta would have a field day with you if they found out though.

.45 acp, why shoot twice?
Re: Warning! Skykomish Car Prowlers
The kinds of street drugs that allow the user not to feel pain are rather rare. These guys would feel the pain of a good beating, but the desperation of addiction would over power any deterrent effects of a beating. In fact it would probably allow them to "justify" what they are doing even more. Not sure what I would do if I caught them in the act...the laws are pretty clear about how and when force can be used.....to even detain them could get a guy into trouble if you were to hurt them..bugmasta wrote:pretty sure they will feel my .45Jerry H wrote:Given the opportunity we would all like to have a few minutes with these guys. What if a group of us all chipped in on a motion activated tree camera? Hide it well so it gets a good angle of the parking area and check it once a week or so?
Just a thought.

Last time I got my truck broke into was down at haller park in Arlington. Didnt see who did it but when I called 911 I reported I noticed someone bust the window out from across the river and was carrying concealed and was going to confront them. 3 cops within 5 minutes and they actually got my tools back that where in my truck.
Some times you gotta bluff a little bit to get the system working
And if any of you guys park at ben howard, park on the down river side of the boat ramp, I have a trail cam out there.

seems like we need to keep an eye out for each other's vehicles( even though I've never met any of you). Got your back!

Word on the street (from jerry) is that they got the guy that stole the truck at sultan.
Re: Warning! Skykomish Car Prowlers
I just spent three hours at safelite. I also had cameras installed with a 360 view of my truck. They're motion activated, and will make it super satisfying to see these crooks get locked up for the night. If I see anyone breaking into my car or any other car, I will break into their face and accept whatever consequences the law will give me.

If you fish often and are social at all, i'd bet you've met more of these guys than you know of. Always right to back other friendly fisherman.sealegs wrote:seems like we need to keep an eye out for each other's vehicles( even though I've never met any of you). Got your back!
Re: Warning! Skykomish Car Prowlers
Agreed I am always on the lookout for creeps in the parking areas, but as with the cracker bar area there is a camp in the woods. Not to say that all homeless are thieves, but these folks would have all day to watch and wait for you to get far enough away to do their dirty work. Granted I haven’t been able to get out as much as I usually do recently, it has been over a year since I have seen WDFW officer in the Sultan/Startup/ Gold Bar area. The last time I called the Sheriff when my house was vandalized some months ago I was told they were too busy in Snohomish; Gold Bar has sheriffs contracted to patrol Gold Bar but they were too busy elsewhere . Not sure how much attention car prowling would get…Weekend-warrior17 wrote:If you fish often and are social at all, i'd bet you've met more of these guys than you know of. Re: Warning! Skykomish Car Prowlers
I propose that we all get together and invest in security cameras for our fishing spots that are prone to break ins. We will form a group, and post signs informing tweakers of the fact that they are being filmed, and when a break-in does occur, we'll have a phone number for the person in charge of a given camera o find the license plate of the criminal so that we can put them in jail. If we get enough cameras up we can create break in free fishing spots. We can vote and propose locations, such as reiter and sultan, or sooes creek and the ben howard area etc. Game cameras are fairly inexpensive and that way we can all fish knowing that our cars are safe, or at least we can get the tweakers off the streets.

I'm going to start a new thread looking for volunteers.
