Let's hope for a firm sentence, including the guy with the double amputation, since he's done this before.

Kudos go to the WDFW officer that responded to that call!

"The officer allegedly found 41 dead salmon, more than 23 pounds of roe",

How many salmon does it take to get 23 pounds of roe? Throw the book at them! Up to a year in jail!

So enquiring minds want to know, how the heck do you poach fish when youre a double amputee? Whats he do just kick the other guys when they step out of line?

They threw the nets, he used his motorized wheel chair to drag the fish onto the bank? Image [laugh]

Actually, double amputee must have done this twice before. This time, WDFW will take an arm.... sort of a "4 strikes and then you're really out" rule!

I guess they weren't really expecting needing a 'quick getaway' by wheelchair. :-k

There is some funny stuff being written about the amputee at FB.

"Why would that amputee do that? It's got me stumped... Bail, lawyers, and fines are going to cost him an arm and a leg.

He'll be up to his knees in legal fees!

great if only they can catch all the other guys that do that for the past who knows how many years, same with all the snaggers at the mouth. I don't see why they didn't just fish at night in the legal fishing area, those chums love glow balls and prawns.

23 pounds of roe at 10 bucks a pound is 230 bucks. That's a very low return on an investment that could put them in jail. If criminals were smarter, they'd break into trucks at boat launches, not poach fish. A loomis on craigslist goes for 200. Stereos, subs... And nobody EVER gets caught breaking into cars, the cops even say so. I don't want to give the crooks any ideas, but this just illustrates how dumb these guys are.

To resort to that nonsense they must REALLY suck at fishing rivers.... LMAO Those who can't,.... cheat....?

Does WaLakes have a policy against sharing the offenders names?

Edward Durham II, 54, David Wilson, 31, and Travis Sparr,41, were arrested for poaching.

The names were already published in the news so it is public knowledge. Let's remember, being arrested is not the same as being convicted.

[woot] Exactly why I included the "arrested" part of the published news report. :sunny:

I find it apauling that you guys would crack jokes about a double amputee. This is a serious offense and this guy has enough to deal with in life as it is.
However, there are rumors, that upon hearing that he wanted to plead "Not guilty", Sparr's attorney said, "They caught you red handed, you don't have a leg to stand on". [woot]
Shoot, I just picked on the poor criminal to. [wink]
