Re: Rain!
Went out Saturday and the wind was crazy. It was blowing my line all I've the place ad couldn't feel anything. Did get one bite on Reese road but lost it after a few whips but it was so nasty. I figured Sunday would be blown out. Hopefully next weekend will be better weather. Hoping for a good weekend this week.
Re: Rain!
on the Wallace the river was just starting to rise on Saturday afternoon. The fish were moving up in shallow water from hole to hole but they had no interest in biting.....Sunday the water was up but the fish still didnt want to bite.....at dusk I could see lots of fish moving up river, it was pretty cool, it would of been real cool if they biting. I couldnt fish Monday, Today I will check things out at the hatchery
Re: Rain!
Went to the hatchery on the Wallace last night after work (I hate switching time for daylight saving) as it is right down the road from where I live. The flow was just a little too fast for float fishing which is what I mostly do. Only saw one nice bright fish roll at the May Creek hole. No biters, but there weren’t much time to fish.

Re: Rain!
Where are you fishing ?
Re: Rain!
I usually start down at thomas eddie. Then i start moving until i find fish. My routine these last couple weeks has been thomas eddie, then 522 bridge, then prison hole or tulaco loop rd, then cracker bar, then end at reese rd and i usually hike down to the mouth of the wallace or just up river from the mouth. Im really hoping for a good weekend. fingers crossed for good weather and great fishing

Re: Rain!
It should be all good looks like its getting into shape. I'm going a little higher up its at 7.5ft 6000 cfs. As long as the river doesn't jump up 3ft I am going to try for some early winter Steel .

Blown? IMO not at all, it's peaked and on the drop - right now is PERFECT. If I didn't have to work I wouldn't be here typing, I'd be there casting...
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker
Re: Rain!
well i made it up to the wallace yesterday.. started at the hwy 2 bridge but no luck. saw only one jumper. went up to the hatchery to check it out & ran into a couple people from here. was told the conditions were pretty high and less than optimal. threw my line in a couple times. tried the "cheating" at the hatchery outlet pipe just to waste time. went up to reiter road to find the guys but no luck. at least i got to check out the area and see what was private access and what wasnt. does anyone ever have success at the Big Eddy boat launch? its a beautiful spot. complete with a pumpkin on a log that overhangs the river. lol stopped at al borlin and wow was it blown out. the big gravel bar by the creek was almost 100% under water. donated some gear then headed home fishless. chalked it up to a learning day for the wallace and how rain effects the rivers.

You're calling 9k+ flows "PERFECT"?
