Here's an article in the Spokane paper on how TU is fighting bucket biologists.

Those bass didn't get in Chopaka and Badger by swimming upstream. Illegal planting is how they got there.

Chopaka is one my annual Eastern WA. Trout/fly fisheries. Did it get a dosing of bass this year?

Out of curiosity I wonder what the Montana penalty is for illegally transporting/planting non-native species. Seems to me if it is a slap on the wrist fine and misdemeanor it might be worthwhile to deliberately plant, have your buddy turn you in, and split the cash.....

](*,) Just an idea.

Then have MT authorities tracee the funds, discover the fraud, charge and convict parties involved for conspiring to defraud MT taxpayers and sportsmen, and toss 'em in jail.

This happened on Mineral Lake. Bass stocked by the bucket brigrade. We rehabbed. Bass back. We rehabbed it. Bass back. Then it got to the point were rehabbing got out of favor for the west side of the state. Now we have big huge bass in our trophy trout nursery lake. Not awesome.

Mineral Lake is in Lewis County.

It's a nursery lake so it's currently closed until the April opener.

LOL!! Sorry, it's about 2 hours north of vancouver and east of I5 near the town of Morton Washington. Follow US HWY 12 and you'll find it.

Ok, now my next question would have been: North of Vancouver, Wa., or Vancouver, B.C., Canada?

Ok, ok, just kidding. [laugh]

Yes I know where Morton is. [thumbup] I've acually been thru it a couple times, years ago. [biggrin]

Gett out and explore or do some research online [wink] , they have some huge bass in that lake enough said it's worth the drive at the right time of year.

I was just a little curious. I can't imagine myself driving to the other side of the state to catch a bass, when I can catch bass right in my own back yard, and pike just across the border from me in Idaho.

The main problem with that web site is that it's wrong quite often. It shows that Meridian is no gas motors, but Meridian's been gas motors allowed for over 40 years that I've been fishing it. So I don't trust that site.
