Fly Fishing in Mexico

Post by colel311 » Wed May 29, 2013 12:04 pm

I'm taking a trip to Puerto Vallarta in December and bring my 8wt and a type 4 sink tip line. Was planning on just fishing from the beaches or maybe any jettys if possible. Was wondering what flies to bring and what tackle. thanks for the replies.

anything that bites! roosterfish, tuna, basically anything that hangs out near the shorelines and in bays

I hope you have a BIG reel with LOTS of backing if you catch a tuna, from what I've read about them and they like to RUN!

I picked up the Cabelas RLS reel a while back and it has plenty of backing room! It'd be interesting to hook into something large there on an 8 weight
