They do, i just cure my eggs in borax-o-fire cure, and it works better for coho in my opinon. I prefer a natural colored just borax and a little sugar cured eggs for steelhead fishing. Just a prefrence i suppose.

Well, went out to the river early this morning. Headed out to a popular hole at the hatchery. Started fishing when i could see. Right away hooked into a dcent fish. It started going crazy, fought it for a bit and when i got it up towards the bank i realised it was a little hatchery steelhead. What?! Anyway it spit the hook when i was about to the grab it...I moved up river, and there were about 20-40 fish just sitting under a cut-bank. Every cast...Hooked fish after fish(Lost count at 10 or so) Didn't land a single one. Frustrated i moved back down and found another group of about 20 fish just sitting behind a rock, ended up landing a chrome buck and dark hen, losing several more larger fish. So, fish are in and its only gonna get better. Always lose fish on the dungy for some reason though...Guess it's cause they're strong, big and agressive. Oh, and also the sun was in my eyes. LOL.... #-o

Haha, who knows it may be better by then. The bulk of the run hasn't entered the river yet. Coho are in the river till late november-early december. Bright fish should be in till the first week of november.

Oh, say hi if you see me on the river! I always wear that black hat. I caught all my fish this year in the morning, good fishing till about noon. But evening is good as long as no one spooks the fish in the hole. If not, then 4-5pm can be really good. Caught all my fish last year between 4 and 4:30 every day. If you want to know more about the river and tips on what the coho like(More like hate i guess haha) then feel free to pm me.

Fished early this morning again. Went to a spot by the hatchery. Saw 2 fish already caught when i got to the river, and saw a decent amount of fish holding up. Hooked into 2, a chrome fish that was on for about 5 seconds, and a dark fish that was tail hooked. Got it close in and let the line go slack so the hook fell out. There were fish, but the spot they were holding up in made it hard to get down to them and the snags are a big problem, lost the rest of the hooks i had tied up a few days ago, so i didn't fish for too long. With all the rain, tomorrow it should be pretty stacked if the river isn't blown out.

Fished the dungy once again for the whole day. Got to the river at 7:15am and second cast missed a nice fish, cause it hit when i was reeling in. Few casts later landed a dark fish that was tail hooked(Released) Ended up hooking 3 more after that landing none. Saw 6 or 7 fish landed most being bright. Left the river at 4:30. Very slow day...Gonna try again tomorrow morning maybe. Nice talking to you on the river today schu. Any luck on the lower? Sorry it was so slow today...

Yeah we went under the 101 bridge. about 6 guys fishing that hole. no one hooking up. they all had corky and yarn on. I decided to switch it up and toss a purple jig. 1st cast just 2 twitches in I hook up with a HUGE brute! The biggest coho ever! I play him for a bit and I think he's ready to come in when he does one looong. run down into the current and all the way down the rapids, no stopping him. he breaks me off shortly after. man my adrenaline was running, biggest coho I've ever hooked. a few casts later I hook a nice hen that spits the hook mid jump just feet from me.
my husband caught a nice dolly and a small steelhead. oh I also hooked a small steelhead too. all in all it was a great day, but man I wish I got that fish in, I would've had bragging rights. awesome fishing with you! Also everyone on the river was super nice! Though some of the access spots were super sketch. dead animals and needles. bleck

Wow, sounds fun. Yeah, the fish on the dungeness get really big, but tough to land cause they just keep going. Theres some big dollies in the river. How big was the steelhead, and was it hatchery? Yeah, was really fun fishing with you, glad you hooked into some fish! Guess i gotta check out the bridge this year, and try a few jigs haha

River is really high! Went out today, and it was muddy and blown out. Fished for a bit, as far as i can tell the bulk of the run has yet to enter the river so it's gonna be a late run of coho. Hooked into 3 coho, when the river started dropping in the evening. Landed about a 7lb dolly! Biggest i have ever landed, so that was cool. Great fight! Saw a few coho on the bank..and heard it was good yesterday. But with the river being blown out yesterday i wonder how the fish were being caught? Most people are using 6-14 inch leaders and heavy weight... Heading out again early morning, with the river dropping fast. Wish i had got a pic of the dolly with my phone, but wanted to release it as fast as i could.

Fish should hopefully be in next week. Went today, and the river was dropping. Saw a few caught, and a few jumping but couldn't get any. Water would actually be pretty good tomorrow...I might head back out in a few hours, gonna go buy some waders.

Looks like I might be able to make it over there Sunday after all, I hope it is fishable, so from what I have picked up the hatchery and under highway 101 are the two best spots?

Yeah. Pm me and i can give you quite a bit of info. But...I tried out my new waders today for the first time...Worst day i have ever had, waded over to a little slot, but someone had pissed off a whole nest of yellowjackets. I got attacked by what looked like a hundred or so. Stung a few times, luckily i got to the water before they really swarmed. But you should be able to avoid any of that, as long as you dont wade across the river by the hatchery and walk through the woods over there. Water should be perfect by tomorrow by the way. It was still a little high today. But it only needs to drop a few more inches and clear up a little. As long as there is no snow melt or rain it will be good tomorrow...If theres fish atleast. I hooked into one today second cast, didn't fish much though cause the bee stings have been hurting for hours..

Oh it was. I'm okay now, but i didn't get to fish really. fortunately i'm not allergic to bee stings, and they attacked my hat more than anything. I'm just hoping i don't run into anymore tommorow or the rest of the year...I was suprised to see yellowjackets this late in the year actually. Now i know though, NEVER wade over to the otherside of the river above the hatchery.

Well today was a great day.Fished the dungy all day today. FIrst at the first hole by the hatchery parkinglot, hooked into what felt like a huge fish, when it hit almost felt like a snag and i thought it was. Went to break off the "snag" and the fish dove to the bottom of the river and spit the hook. Later moved down river waded across and found a few good holes that were stacked with fish. I lost count of how many i hooked after around 10-15 fish, everytime the fish would spit the hook but i finally landed one. Walked back up to meet up with my grandpa(He doesnt have waders) and he had caught one and hooked up with 4 more. Pretty good day, and i found some great spots. Also, the fish are a little dark, but they were really chrome and darkened a few hours after they were caught.
