Well as most of you this coming weekend is our annual OPEN Tournament at lake Mayfield (Sept 7,8, & 9).

Friday Sept 7:

We will begin setting up around noon at Lake Mayfield Resort Conf room located just about the main office with Tournament Registration and a meet and greet starting at 5pm and running thought out the evening. Registration is $100 per two man (woman) team with one team per boat.

Feel free to come out early and help us get everything in place if you have the time, your help would truly be appreciated.

Saturday, Sept 8

There will be a mandatory anglers meeting starting at 6am. It's important to have anglers ready to with their boats in the water prior to this meeting.
With only one launch at the resort things tend to get backed up very quickly and we want to ensure a timely start. The Tournament day will end at 4pm sharp with all boats checking in with the director at the predetermined location (usually located in the marina area). A penalty will be giving to any late returning boat with more details to be giving out during the morning meeting. After accountability and all daily catch data is collected we will meet in the Conf room for a fun filled night.

Sunday, Sept 9

Day 2 will begin with a 7am launch and run until 4pm sharp with all boats returning to the check in location. Again, all catch data must be promptly turned in the director to calculate the winners. While that's being done we will move to the Conf room to award the winners and conduct our raffle. We have been working really hard on this raffle items and I'm happy to report that things have come together nicely. I would like to ask each of you to think about creating a "theme basket" to place in the raffle. We did this last year and it was a huge success. We had a car wash basket that contained a wash bucket with soaps and wash mitts etc..., there was a movie basket with popcorn and candy along with a couple of movie passes just to name a few. It was very interesting to see what different people came up and it really helped out in excitement and ticket sales. So, if you have the time and are interested in creating one for this year's raffle, please feel free to let your imagination run wild......

Lastly, I'm sorry to report that I will not able to attend this year's Open Event as I have accepted a job offer that requires me to be out of town.
Even though I'm disappointed in missing this Tournament I know it's in good hands and that all you are truly going enjoy this event. I will be in town and actively working on some remaining details until Fri evening so if there are question of me please don't hesitate to ask.

I look forward to hearing the reports...... Good luck to each of you

All,

I just received some interesting information that requires us to start paying TAX on all our Tournament entry fees. I wish I had better insight to share with each of you but I don't really fully understand it myself yet. We will continue to dig into this matter to figure it out, but in the mean time we have decided to lower our Open Tournament to $50 per two man (woman) team rather than adding more additional cost to the Tournament. This should make it better and more fun for everyone evolved, except uncle Sam [crying]

Please pass the word that this weekend Open Tournament will only cost $50.00 per team.... [thumbsup]

Also, I spoke with the Resort today about having pizza Saturday night and they are offering a special price of only $10 per pizza. The down side is that I need to have a number to them Fri evening in order to have the proper amount of dough prepared. I asking all of you that are attending please let me know how many Pizza's you want so I can have a close number to turn in Friday night.

Just think, now you can fish a great two day tournament and enjoy a fresh homemade pizza for less them the original cost of the tournament itself....

One hellava deal !!!!!

LOL

Thanks for your understanding in these changes.

Congrats to all, WOW 4 fish to one boat! Sounds like alot of Tiger Muskies were caught. Can't wait for more updates but I know the Chapter 60 Curlew tournie may have attracted the website updater so guess I'll have to be patient.
