Fishing Partner needed
Hello everybody, I am new to WL.com I am also new to Washington Bass fishing. I am looking for a fishing partner to help me with my boat. I have an 18 ft. Bass Buggy pontoon boat. It has a 60 hp merc 4 stroke and a motorguide pro 54, electronics are simple a Hummingbird 565 on the bow with the trolling motor, and a Hummingbird Piranha on the console. It has 3 fishing seats and a livewell with aerator. I suffer from arthritis in my knees and shoulders and i have a tough time launching and loading the boat. I know that this is not your normal HI-Speed bass boat, but I make do. Usually my better half fishes with me but its hard for her to take time off work to go with me. I am available 24/7 in most cases, live in the Longview area and have managed to fish Silver, Mayfield, Riffe, Banks and the Columbia river around Fischer Island. Being new I don"t know the rules of behavior on this site, so if i do something wrong please bring it to my attention and I will correct it. Also I am willing to give up the front seat, at least until I learn more about the local lakes.
RE:Fishing Partner needed
Nope I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Would be nice to have our members know eachother on a first name basis like many do on other fishing forums (wl.com forum is only a few months old and some people have met up and fished before so anything's better then nothing)
Anyways, welcome to WL.com and washington in general. I can't help you out with the fishing partner stuff but I'm sure someone would love to take you up on that boat, looks like you got a good setup and you could benefit from some knowledge from some regulars..

Welcome to the site Wayne. If I lived down in that area, I would take you up on your offer. Awfully generous of you. I am sure you will find plenty of peoiple on this site that are knowledgeable about those bodies of water and Washington bass fishing in general. Good luck, and again, welcome.

only thing, i cant do DVL, i have a 2 stroke, and they are 4 stroke only.
alot of our lakes are converting, damm.
RE:Fishing Partner needed
Yeah, I know about the 2 stroke dilemna. My old partner has a 20 ft. Ranger with a 2 stroke that just sits in his garage, about the only place he can still use it is the colorado river lakes. When I bought my boat in 2005 they didn't even give me a choice. If I lived in Calif. you had to buy a 4 stroke. It's probably for the better, I sure don't miss the smell and smoke. Thanks for the offer and if and when I get down there again maybe we can hook-up

RE:Fishing Partner needed
I heard a rumor that California was working on eliminating lead in fishing gear (sinkers, jigs, spinnerbaits, etc.) Is that true? Or just a nightmare coming down the road?
RE:Fishing Partner needed
The smoking law is actually a good law. Second hand smoke has it's side effects. And Arnold isn't likely to be the one proposing these bills/laws and he's not the only one voting on them...2000subaru wrote:Pretty soon they are going to find a way to regulate the amount of Charmin you use to wipe you hiney! Smoking laws...seatbelt laws...helmet laws all, in my opinion (and with my opinion and $1.09 you can get a cup of coffee at IHOP) fall into the same category namely:Sam Kafelafish wrote:The smoking law is actually a good law. I have a mother, leave me alone!
Getting back to the original thread of this post.
I wish I were qualified to show you around the area fisheries. I am not since I am a rooky fisherman.
You target bass I assume, since part of the name of your boat is “bass,” again I know very little about bass fishing. I only target bass where there is little chance of catching trout.
I wish you luck in finding a fishing partner.

RE:Fishing Partner needed
Thank you all for your comments, I am a bass fisherman. thats not to say I haven't caught other fish but It was usually an accident. I got interested in bass way back in 1976 and have fished CA, NV,AZ, and a few TX lakes. I have fished some tournaments mostly club but a few WON and Western Bass tournaments. Still looking for a partner and will fish with a rookie as well as a pro. Young and old ( not too old, I am too old myself). If you are interested, you will have to supply your own food and drinks and thats about it + your tackle. WAYNE

OK guys no one wants to take me up on my offer. I have now taken the drastic measures of winterizing my boat and have put it into covered storage for the winter. I won't be able to see my baby til spring. Keep me in mind come spring C-YA WAYNE
