Outside Washington Reports

Post by fishnislife » Wed Oct 17, 2007 8:44 pm

Since we do have a lot of guys out there who are out of state and still contribute to this website, why not offer a forum where they can give insight and reports. (With the suggestion of our new friend down in Cali homeslice) Being out of the state they really don't have an avenue to show off their catches or give advice. Other forums that I have been apart of have offfered this and it is always a success. Plus, when any of us Washingtonians go out of state we can report back in this particular forum. I have a feeling I'm going to get a reply on the lines of "it's coming with the upgrade". I know, I know and so is WL.com apparel and goods. :-"
Someday never comes.

Anyways, just wanted to make sure you guys know what would be liked around here. And you haven't forgot about the Out-of-Staters.

We've actually had "Out of State" fishing reports sections in the past but decided not to have it in this edition of the site. However...something like it is coming in the next upgrade. #-o

When I have some spare time I'll add a "out of State" type Forum.

Apparel - I've got the WL.com CC now to make the initial outlay. It's on my list...

I wondered where the out of state report section went. I know there weren't many reports, but I did remember using it to my advantage one time when I went to Priest Lake.

I am definitely for an out-of-state forum. Can anyone guess why? Not only that, I do fish in Oregon 20-25% of the time in Oregon. I still am looking forward to the sister site networking plan we talked about. That would be awesome. The Oregon site still runs less than 200 members, and I might be the only bass guy there.

Location: Mouth of the Tualatin River, Oregon
Species: Bass
Lures used: Crankbaits, Topwaters, Spinnerbaits
Time of Day: Noon

Had a couple hours to goof off yesterday especially with the nice weather so I went to the mouth of the Tualatin where it spills into the Willamettte to fish for bass. Because the water levels have recently gone up there was increased flow, so I was working lures along the seam of riffled water and the eddy. Could not bottom fish because of the vegetation so I had to get my lures deep anough to stay just above the grass while still clicking the rocks and boulders. Would foul about half the time with either grass or drifting leaves.

Hooked this wonderful smallmouth which was a hard fighter. Actually I thought I had on a silver salmon because they are known to stack up where I was fishing, but after an awesome game of tug-o-war I finally brought her to shore.

She weighed 4lbs 6oz acording to my little digital scale. She hit a 3/8oz FireTiger tandem spinnerbait. She was released unharmed.

There is now an Outside Washington report forum - until we have outside Washignton report sections for the main site you can post them here.

CavDad - why don't you cut/paste that report on to the new Forum? I can't do one post at a time, I can only move the whole thread.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks Mike! Wish we me luck this weekend when I go to visit the in-laws in Grants Pass and hit nearby Lake Selmac. Home of three of the last four state record largemouths.

press the left mouse button down and roll it over all the text to highlight it. Then right click and select "copy", then make a new post in the Outside Washington Forum and insert the mouse cursor into the text box, right click and select "paste". All the text that you high lighted will appear on the new post. Or, you could just type everything all over. :-&
